MI1C Versera ICE Tech Level I

This course is base technician training for ICE switch technicians. It includes a functional/hardware overview, basic console operations, system diagnostics, routine maintenance, and basic trouble analysis. The course begins with a description of the basic functions and features of the Versera ICE system. Basic SMU, provisioning, and Linux tasks are discussed. Students will learn about the hardware layout of the NGMS components, the protocols, and equipment associated with NGMS. The Dot Hill Raid unit is discussed, and both the hardware and system architecture will be covered as well as the configuration aspects of the device. Students will learn how to troubleshoot, locate, and replace Versera ICE hardware and trace a call through the Versera ICE system. Students will learn to identify system components and verify their performance. Diagnosing system errors and alarms and performing routine maintenance tasks will be examined.
