MI3C Mereon
The classroom-based Mereon training consists of three sections including: media server, unified messaging and conference bridge.
Mereon Media Server
This section provides an overview of the media server. It begins with an IP Unity overview and an MS hardware overview. These overviews provide an understanding of the system, the components, network connectivity, applications supported, and call flows. Students will learn to recognize common communication protocol requests and responses. Configuration management is a substantial part of this course where students will learn how to use various commands to manage, display, and change configurations and manage user accounts. Security management issues are discussed. Operations administration issues such as statistics monitoring and fault and alarm management will be discussed. Alarms, debug commands, and troubleshooting issues are introduced.
Students will then be provided advanced media server troubleshooting knowledge. Students will learn to design network configurations and perform routine maintenance.
Mereon Unified Messaging
This section begins with a unified messaging overview. The unified messaging features are presented and discussed. Students will learn about provisioning using the GUI, and will be able to perform user account management, configure and change organization parameters, and monitor system performance. Students will be provided a user overview and the basics of Oracle. A large part of this course deals with troubleshooting and the protocols of call setup. A more in-depth focus of system configuration and provisioning is provided which leads to troubleshooting the application server and performing routine maintenance tasks.
Mereon Conference Bridge
This section begins with an introduction to the Conference Bridge Server, its architecture, components, and features. Students will learn to recognize the different configurations and provisions for system, sub-system, and organization administrators. Operations, administration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting issues are examined.
The student also gains an understanding of Conference Bridge call flows, network topology, data collaboration, port sharing, application program interfaces, and multiple media servers. Advanced Conference Bridge troubleshooting is a large focus of this course.
